Understanding Content: Introduction

Hey everyone, Tanner here. I recently sent out a text message to my subscriber list, which led to some interesting responses that I want to address in this blog post. It’s about understanding the diverse nature of content and its relevance to different stages of business growth.

One Size Doesn’t Fit All in Business Advice

In the world of business, particularly in education and coaching, it’s crucial to recognize that content varies depending on the audience. As someone who has built a $70 million company, I’ve learned that the advice and strategies I share need to be tailored to different stages of entrepreneurial growth.

Misconceptions About Target Audience

A common misconception I encounter is when people see content aimed at beginners and assume that’s the only group I help. But here’s the thing: Business education is not one-dimensional. While a significant portion of my content may cater to beginners (simply because there are more of them), that doesn’t mean I lack the expertise to guide those at advanced levels.

Ego and Misinterpretation in Business Learning

It’s easy to let ego cloud judgment. Sometimes, when someone sees content that seems basic compared to their level of operation (like spending $50,000 a month on ads), they might dismiss the value it could offer. For perspective, my company spends half a million on ads, but that’s not a bragging point—it’s to illustrate that business insights are scalable and adaptable.

The Simple Rule of Business Learning

Here’s a simple rule I follow: If someone is more successful than you, there’s likely something you can learn from them, regardless of how basic or advanced their shared content appears. This applies to me too. When I encounter someone who has achieved more than I have, I listen and learn, no questions asked.

No Room for Egos, Only Growth

In business, there’s no room for egos. Being open to learning from those who have achieved more is a hallmark of a growth mindset. Dismissing advice or insights because they seem too basic or irrelevant to your current situation is a missed opportunity for growth.

Understanding Content: Final Thoughts

Remember, the path to success is a journey of continuous learning and adaptation. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re a seasoned entrepreneur, there’s always value in listening and learning, no matter the source. So, let’s keep an open mind, shed our egos, and embrace the lessons that come our way.

That’s all for this post. Stay open-minded, stay humble, and keep growing. See you next time!
